African leaders and international partners strengthen resolve to deal with short- and long-term effects of global food crisis.

WFP LEADERS GATHER IN COPENHAGEN AMIDST GROWING HUNGER CRISES COPENHAGEN - UN World Food Programme leaders, from some 80 countries, are gathering in the Danish capital over the next five days to discuss current and future challenges facing the world’s largest humanitarian organization.

2022年、世界ではかつてないほどの食料危機に直面しており、気候危機、紛争、経済的負荷、新型コロナウイルス感染症の影響などが相まって世界で最大8億2,800万人もの人々が飢えや栄養不足に苦しんでいます。さらにウクライナ危機の影響は、食料不安の状況をさらに深刻化・長期化させており、来年も記録的な飢餓に陥るリスクがあるとされています。世界的な食料危機に直面しているなか、日本にいる多くの私たちにとって飢餓を身近に感じにくい面があります。しかし、飢餓は決して遠い国の問題ではありません。

WFP News Release 2 November 2006 WFP WELCOMES CHINA’S GROWING ROLE AS A MAJOR FOOD DONOR Rome – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) today welcomed China’s first donation of US $1.75 million since its graduation from food aid at the end of last year. The contribution – made in cash and without conditions -- will fund some of WFP’s most critical operations around the globe.
