BUJUMBURA, The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) warned today that the lethal combination of poor rains, crop disease and extreme poverty has left 2.2 million Burundians in need of food aid in 2006.
WFP WARNS OF BREAK IN FOOD SUPPLIES TO AFGHANISTAN IN MARCH KABUL – The United Nations World Food Programme today called on donors urgently to provide funds to its Afghanistan operation, which is facing critical shortages in supplying food to 3.5 million vulnerable Afghans. A break in food supplies looms in March if donations are not forthcoming.
