WFP 国連世界食糧計画日本事務所は1996年10月、イタリア・ローマに本部のある国連機関、WFP国連世界食糧計画の駐日代表事務所として、横浜市西区みなとみらいに開設されました。国連WFPの食料支援活動に対して関心が高まり、一層のご支援をいただけるよう、日本政府との連絡・調整業務、企業や各種団体・NGO との協力関係の推進、および広報活動を行っています。 日本は国連WFP の主要拠出国の一つです。 2023年、日本政府からは2億897万4498米ドルが寄せられ、日本は世界有数の支援国として国連WFPの活動を支えました。また。2023年、国連WFP協会を通じて民間（企業・団体、個人等）からは32億1147万9077円が寄せられました。2024年1月末時点で、57人の日本人の正規職員がアジア、アフリカなど世界各地の事務所に勤務しています。 代表メッセージ
