MOUNTAIN GUIDES HELP WFP PREPARE RECOVERY FROM PAKISTAN QUAKE ISLAMABAD - The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) today announced the formation of a team of 23 experienced international and Pakistani mountain guides to assess damage and destruction in mountainous areas of Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir hit by last October’s earthquake.

WFP LAUDS GROWING LINKS WITH 10 NEW EU MEMBER STATES NITRA -- Concluding a two-day meeting in this historic Slovakian city, the World Food Programme welcomed its burgeoning partnership with the 10 new member states of the European Union, marked in the past year by expanding cooperation and sharp increases in financial contributions.

2022年、世界ではかつてないほどの食料危機に直面しており、気候危機、紛争、経済的負荷、新型コロナウイルス感染症の影響などが相まって世界で最大8億2,800万人もの人々が飢えや栄養不足に苦しんでいます。さらにウクライナ危機の影響は、食料不安の状況をさらに深刻化・長期化させており、来年も記録的な飢餓に陥るリスクがあるとされています。世界的な食料危機に直面しているなか、日本にいる多くの私たちにとって飢餓を身近に感じにくい面があります。しかし、飢餓は決して遠い国の問題ではありません。
